目的探讨基层老年护理培训班的课程设计、实施和评价。方法在文献调研的基础上,通过专家咨询形成基层老年护理培训班的七个培训模块;将培训课程应用于受日本笹川医学会专项经费援助的基层老年护理专业的护理人员,并对七个培训模块、30个课程进行效果评价。结果七个培训模块的需求评价和效果评价中老年护理安全评分最高,课程的评价中磁性护理文化、压力管理、老年患者的皮肤管理、预防老年人误吸以及老年人跌倒的管理排在前五位。结论护理人文建设和护理安全是基层老年护理工作者关注的热点。  相似文献

总结了16名护理学基础实验课教师在2005—2008学年进行反思性教学的体会,探讨反思性教学在护理学基础实验课中的应用。组织教师学习反思性教学理论,讨论进行反思性教学的实际方法并融入实践。在2005-2008年3届学生的教学过程中,有计划地采取了写反思日记、教学日记,组织教师间的交流与讨论,录像、录音回放,邀请专家点评听课等反思方式。通过反思性教学的应用,教师提高了职业成就感与教学经验,学生护理学基础实验课的成绩与满意度得到了提高,教学水平明显提高,取得较好的效果。  相似文献

This paper discusses a faculty project that explored community research needs to guide and shape the research curriculum and class assignments for a master of occupational therapy education program. Thirteen community partners were identified and interviewed. Eleven of 13 valued or greatly valued research. Those same 11 expressed an interest in collaborating with the Department of Occupational Therapy. The community partners identified 86 potential future topics for research covering many areas of practice; the majority of them focused on pediatrics. The community partners also identified several research supports already in place such as team work, administrative support, and access to clients. They identified barriers to implementing research including lack of time and assistance for the research process. This information will be incorporated in student research projects, course assignments, and faculty research agendas to provide students with an authentic learning experience while meeting community partners' needs.  相似文献

A variety of educational programs in occupational medicine are available for medical students. This paper describes a two-day program that emphasizes agricultural medicine for senior medical students during their rotation in the Department of Family Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. This review presents the first detailed presentation of the parallelism between the Tuskegee Syphilis Study and the Captain America graphic novel ‘TRUTH: Red, White and Black’, published as a graphic novel by Marvel Comics in 2004 as a paperback, and then in 2009 as a hardcover. First written, published and distributed monthly in 2003 as pre-sequel seven comic book series to tell the story of the origins of the WWII superhero Captain America. In 2003, Marvel Comics chose to tell a ‘very dark story’ to explain the origins of Captain America, a half century after the initial introduction of Captain America as a WWII action hero in 1940. By detailing—for the first time—nine parallel aspects between these two storylines, this review demonstrates how Marvel Comics brought the tragic Tuskegee Syphilis Study story into the popular press, thus reaching an audience far beyond traditional bioethics academicians. This review is intended to stimulate and guide classroom discussions on the ethical issues at the core of the infamous Tuskegee Syphilis Study allowing bioethical issues to be made more accessible to the general public, via school curriculums, by the use of graphic novels.  相似文献

The aim of this tutorial is to provide an introduction to problem-based learning (PBL), particularly as applied to speech-language pathology (SLP) programs. The tutorial is aimed at the reader who is less familiar with this learning approach. Additionally, it serves as a framework for the articles that follow in this special issue on PBL programs in SLP and other clinical education programs. A brief history of PBL is provided and the rationale and context for this approach are identified. PBL is defined and differentiated from related educational approaches. Different models and variations of PBL are outlined. The key components of PBL are further illustrated using the tutorial cycle. Finally, we present one specific case of a PBL-based SLP program in detail. This tutorial will provide a deeper understanding of PBL for many higher educators in SLP. The strengths of this approach are outlined and the challenges are identified, particularly for those contemplating converting an existing “traditional” course or curriculum.  相似文献

Background

The predicted shortage of surgeons is of growing concern with declining medical student interest in surgical careers. We hypothesized that earlier exposure to operative experiences and the establishment of resident mentors through a preclinical elective would enhance student confidence and interest in surgery.

Methods

We developed a preclinical elective in surgery, which served as an organized curriculum for junior medical students to experience surgery through a paired resident-mentorship model. We assessed student exposure and confidence with clinical activities before and after the elective (N = 24, 100% response rate). We compared these students with a cohort of peers not enrolled in the elective (N = 147, 67% response rate).

Results

We found significantly improved confidence (2.8 vs 4.4) and clinical exposure (2.4 vs 4.3) before versus after the elective, with precourse scores equal to matched peers.

Conclusions

This elective incorporates elements that have been shown to positively influence student decision making in surgical career choice. The mentorship model promotes residents as educators, whereas the elective provides a means for early identification of students interested in surgery.  相似文献
